Tutors can fit sessions around school, a day job and other students. OpenCal reads each connected calendar and gives parents and students one link with the tutor's open times.

Is there a free scheduling app for tutors?

OpenCal is a free scheduling app for tutors. You sign in with Google or Microsoft. You choose which calendars count as busy. You share one short link. The link shows your open times for the next two weeks. Visitors can page ahead up to 90 days.

Can I tutor around my job or school calendar?

OpenCal checks your job, school and personal calendars together before it shows a time as open. You can connect several Google and Microsoft accounts. You can connect one iCloud account. You can add any calendar with a private .ics address. OpenCal shows a time as open only when it is free on every calendar you marked as busy.

How do I set tutoring hours for afternoons and weekends?

OpenCal lets you set tutoring hours for each day. You can open weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings only. In Settings, under Hours, you can turn on any day of the week. You can give each day its own ranges. For example, you can set Monday to Friday from 3 to 7 and Saturday from 9 to 12. OpenCal shows open times only during those hours.

How long can a tutoring session be?

An OpenCal session can be 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour. A custom session can last from 5 to 480 minutes in 5-minute steps. You can enter a custom length as minutes, such as 90, or as hours and minutes, such as 1:30. OpenCal checks that the whole session is free before it books.

How do parents book a session?

Parents book a tutoring session on OpenCal by opening your link. Parents sign in with Google or Microsoft. OpenCal takes the parent's name and verified email from that account. The page has no email field. A booking needs your minimum notice. The default minimum notice is 2 hours.

Can a new family book only one trial session?

Yes, an OpenCal one-time link lets a new family book one trial session. Choose "One-time links only" beside Bookings. Press Copy new for each new family. Each new link books one meeting. An unused one-time link expires 30 days after you make it.
