Calendly alternative for multiple calendars

You can keep a work calendar, a personal Google Calendar and an iCloud calendar. A scheduling link must check all three before it offers a time. This guide compares Calendly's calendar limits with how OpenCal merges several calendars into one link.

How many calendars can Calendly connect?

Calendly's help center says: “Free plan: Connect 1 calendar” and “Paid plans: Connect up to six calendars per user”. The help center lists Google Calendar, Office 365 or Outlook.com, and Exchange as supported calendar platforms. Which calendars can OpenCal combine?

OpenCal connects several Google accounts and several Microsoft accounts, personal or work. It connects one iCloud account with your Apple Account email and an app-specific password. It also reads a private .ics calendar feed. You can add a Teams or Outlook desktop calendar with Read from screen. You can add Outlook on the web with the OpenCal Sync extension for Chrome and Edge. In Settings, you choose which calendars count as busy.

How does OpenCal merge several calendars into one link?

OpenCal shows a time as open only when it is inside your hours and free on every calendar you marked as busy. OpenCal starts with the days and hours you set in Settings. It removes busy time from every calendar you marked as busy, plus your buffer. The remaining time appears as open on your link. Events marked free, canceled events and declined events do not block time. Tentative events count as busy.

If OpenCal cannot read one of your calendars, your link shows no open times. OpenCal never shows unchecked time as free.

How often does OpenCal check my calendars?

OpenCal reads Google, Microsoft and iCloud calendars each time someone opens your link or you open your page. It reuses a read for at most one minute. OpenCal reads a calendar feed when your page or link opens, at most every 10 minutes. Calendars read from your screen change only when you read them again.

Where do bookings go when I connect several calendars?

OpenCal saves bookings in OpenCal by default. In Settings, under Booking, you can send bookings to one Google or Outlook calendar instead. Before saving a booking, OpenCal reads every busy calendar again.

What does it cost to connect several calendars?
