How to send a recruiter your free times from every calendar
When a recruiter asks for a few times that work, you check Google Calendar, your company Teams calendar and iCloud, then type the free slots into your reply. OpenCal gives you one free link that shows your free time across all of those calendars.
How does OpenCal give a recruiter my available times?
Send one link that shows your free time. OpenCal reads busy times from the calendars you connect and shows open time for the next two weeks. The recruiter can page ahead up to 90 days. You do not check each calendar or type times by hand.
Which calendars does OpenCal check before it shows a time as free?
OpenCal checks every calendar you mark as busy in Settings. You can connect several Google accounts, personal and work Microsoft accounts, and one iCloud account. You can add a company Teams or Outlook desktop calendar with Read from screen, Outlook on the web with the Chrome and Edge extension, and any calendar with a private .ics address. If OpenCal cannot read a calendar, the link shows no open times, so unchecked time never appears as free.
What does the recruiter see on my link?
The recruiter sees your open times and your name, plus any profile details you choose to show. The recruiter never sees event titles, places or guests. The link shows a week, two weeks or a month at a time.
Can the recruiter see times that work for both of us?
Yes. When the recruiter signs in with Google or Microsoft on your link, the page shows "Times that work for you" and your name. The OpenCal server compares both calendars and sends each of you only the shared free times. Neither of you receives the other person's busy times.
Can the recruiter book a time from the link?
Yes, booking is on for new accounts. The recruiter signs in, picks a start time and books it. OpenCal uses the name and verified email from the recruiter's Google or Microsoft account, so the page has no email field. By default, a booking needs at least 2 hours' notice. OpenCal reads your calendars again before it saves the booking. To let each link book one meeting only, choose "One-time links only" and press Copy new for each recruiter.
Will the meeting go on my calendar?
By default, OpenCal saves the booking for both of you, and OpenCal sends no email. In Settings, under Booking, you can add bookings to a Google or Outlook calendar instead. That calendar adds the recruiter as a guest and sends the invite.
How does OpenCal handle a recruiter who asks for available times in an email?
Press Copy times on your OpenCal page. OpenCal copies your open times as text, and you paste them into your reply. The times come from the same busy-time check as the link.
How much does OpenCal cost?
OpenCal is free to use.
