Free interview scheduling link
Hiring managers and interviewers email candidates lists of times until one fits. OpenCal gives them one free link. Each candidate books an interview from the link.
How do I send a candidate an interview scheduling link?
OpenCal gives you one link that a candidate can open to book an interview. You sign in with Google or Microsoft and choose which calendars count as busy. You set your interview hours in Settings under Hours. You paste the link into an email to the candidate. The candidate opens the link, signs in with Google or Microsoft, and books an open time.
Can each candidate book only one interview?
Yes, an OpenCal one-time link books one interview only. You select "One-time links only" beside Bookings. You press Copy new in the dock for each candidate. Each new link books one meeting. An unused one-time link expires 30 days after you create it.
Can two candidates book the same interview slot?
No, OpenCal never books two candidates into the same slot. OpenCal reads your calendars again before saving a booking. The database rejects a second booking for an overlapping time. When two candidates choose the same time simultaneously, one booking succeeds and the other candidate sees "That time was just taken."
Will the interview go on my work calendar?
OpenCal keeps the booking by default, or it can add the interview to your Google or Outlook calendar. You see the booking under Bookings. In Settings under Booking, you choose the calendar. That calendar adds the candidate as a guest and emails the invite. OpenCal uses the candidate's name and verified email from the candidate's Google or Microsoft account.
How much notice do I get before an interview?
OpenCal requires your minimum notice before an interview. The default minimum notice is 2 hours. You change it in Settings under Booking.
Can OpenCal check my company Teams calendar?
Yes, OpenCal connects to Microsoft work accounts that contain the Teams calendar. If your company does not let OpenCal connect to your work calendar, you open the Teams or Outlook week view and select Read from screen. You pick the window, and the page reads the busy blocks. The screenshot never leaves your browser. You press Read from screen again when your week changes.
How do I find a time when the whole interview panel is free?
Make a group poll. Send it to the interviewers. Your OpenCal link shows only your own calendars. Each interviewer types a name and marks the times they are free. An interviewer signed in to OpenCal can press Fill from my calendars to mark free times from connected calendars. The poll lists the times when the most interviewers are free.
